COURSE DESCRIPTION
VTX is JBL’s premium line of speaker systems designed for touring, installation, and live production applications. In this two-day intensive, participants will learn about the products and innovation behind the VTX catalog, system design principles for full range and subwoofer arrays, and the software that is used to design, manage, and optimize VTX systems. The course concludes with hands on rigging, suspension, and listening of multiple A and B-series VTX products.
Due to time constraints, JBL’s new 3D acoustic modeling tool, Venue Synthesis, is not covered in this course. Venue Synthesis training is available as a dedicated course.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- A working understanding of VTX products, accessories, transducer and waveguide innovation.
- A fundamental overview of full range line array and subwoofer behavior.
- Best practices for designing, deploying, and optimizing VTX systems.
- Working understanding of Crown ITechHD series amplifiers, VRACK and basic network management skills.
- In-depth understanding of LAC3, Performance Manager and Array Link software.
- Ability safely and reliably suspend A-series and B-series products .
PREREQUISITES
- Participants should have a working grasp of basic audio workflows, terminology acoustics, and computer networking concepts.
- Some experience designing and deploying sounds systems

REQUIRED MATERIALS
Participants should bring their own PC or a Mac with Boot Camp or equivalent, preloaded with the latest versions of LAC3 (Line Array Calculator 3) and Performance Manager. A mobile device with Array link installed. These programs should be up and running prior to the session.
